Teatro Massimo

This is the largest opera house in Italy, third in Europe, after the Opéra National in Paris and the Vienna State Opera

Palermo's Cathedral

Palermo's Cathedral (pict. 1) is the main Catholic cult site in the city. It is part of the Arab-Norman itinerary in Palermo, UNESCO World Heritage site.

Palatine Chapel

The Palatine Chapel (pict. 2) is located within Palazzo dei Normanni. Famous for its Byzantine mosaics, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Martorana Church

The historical markets

The open-air markets (pict. 4) represent the ideal location for a dip in the older popular traditions of Palermo. The most famous ones are three: Vucciria, Ballarò, Capo.

Location: Those three markets are all situated in the historical center and open every morning.

Mondello

The beach of Mondello (pict. 5) is an unmissable location for a tourist who wants to enjoy the sunshine and take a swim from Palermo. Mondello is a fascinating maritime district full of Liberty villas, surrounded in a suggestive landscape close to mountains, half an hour of bus lane from the center of Palermo.

Zisa Castle

The Zisa Castle, conceived as summer residence of the King, is one of the best example of Norman-Arab art.

Botanical Garden

Teatro dei Pupi (Theater of Sicilian Puppets)

The Teatro dei Pupi is one of most ancient sicilian traditions, and it's acknowledged as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Among the most important exponents of this tradition are the Figli d'Arte Cuticchio ("Cuticchio Sons Family Tradition")
